Maturity is in the eye of the beholder

I want you all to be the first to know, that I have officially declared myself "mature". Now maybe that means old, I am well into my thirties. But I'm hoping I'm at least a little more wise than I was in my twenties.

I will wear two pairs of socks if the temperature in my house necessitates it. I'm certainly not going to wear flip-flops in the middle of the winter. You aren't going to see my midriff hanging out...if there is a gap between my shirt and my jeans, it would literally "hang out". I've all but given up on fad diets....there must be a way to be healthy and not be on a diet...I'm really hoping it includes chocolate chip cookies. Oh, and, shhhhh....the highlights in my hair are becoming more function than beauty...my roots are starting to sparkle with a silvery tint.

Here is the good stuff...I'm blessed beyond blessed to have a diverse blend of friends. I don't care what anyone wears...or how big or small their booty is. I enjoy the wit and humor that is shared among friends. I will not pretend to be someone other than who I truly am. I will not be led blindly by rules imposed by someone else. I am a free thinker. Anyone who doesn't want to accept me and my friendship doesn't have to. I don't want to be a cookie cutter of the people who I meet. I enjoy hearing views of different people and listening to their experiences. I think most people would say that I can find humor in my challenges and failures.

My children are my world right now. I'm sure that isn't exciting to read about...my that is the way it is. Let me also clarify, children take over your world (even if you don't think they will)...I'm not trying to be a martyr, that's just what they do....come into the world, and TAKE IT OVER. I am in no way a perfect mom....there are MANY out there wiser than me. I just want to get my kids into adulthood without any of us losing our minds. I enjoy them all at their different ages and marvel at how they can be so different. I noticed today that Claire is at least as tall as Gage if not taller....I'm not sure how I feel about that....that's a post for a different day.
I'm still working on posting pictures....maybe later today!

Mr. B. turns 2

I can hardly believe that Brady turned 2 yesterday. It seems like only yesterday that we were pleasantly surprised to find out he would be joining our family. He looks a lot like Gage did at that age. He is getting increasingly vocal about his needs and desires...there is a lot of screaming going on at our house. For once, it isn't just me!

His party was fun. I made lollipop trucks and tractors and inserted them into cupcakes covered in "dirt". He loves John Deere tractors and all dirt diggers. Unfortunately, he was a bit under the weather and didn't fully enjoy his party. Gage even told me I "did a good job getting everything done for the party!" It was a very sweet thing for him to say!

Next week will be spring break for the kiddos. I kept Claire home today for a drippy nose and cough. I'm not sure how I will survive next week with both of them home!
